Ol Dirty
"Wu-Tang is for the children!" -ODB
This painting of the late great ODB took me around 6 months to complete. I used a technique called pointalism where I painted it dot by dot. The hair eyes and mouth were painted traditionally with strokes, but all the skin areas were done dot by dot with acrylic skin tone pigments.
This is a painting paying homage to one of hip-hop's greats Ol Dirty Bastard. One of the original members of the Wu-Tang Clan and is recognized and appreciated worldwide not only for his abilities on the mic, but mostly for unapologetically being himself. One of his most memorable moments was him going to get his food stamps in a limousine, lolz. He was a true artist at heart and a one of a kind human being that could never be duplicated and I hope my painting captures him and resonates with his true fans. Rest easy Dirty...
