Original Goma Gorilla
This is my original Goma Gorilla painting and is apart of my animal series. Goma, a male silverback gorilla, lives at the Cheyenne mountain zoo in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I visited this amazing zoo in the summer of 2019. While there I took some photos to use as reference material and inspiration for a painting. I came across Goma as his back was to me. Waiting patiently to see what he would while hoping he would give me something to work with. As I was about to leave Goma slowly turned his head and looked over his shoulder directly at me as if to say, "what are you looking at." I eagerly took the photo and went home and begin my work. Goma was the perfect model that day and made the whole trip worth it. I love what I do.
