Original Gorilla Eyes

This is my original gorilla eyes painting and is apart of my animal series. I wanted to highlight the gaze of a silverback gorilla that I saw while I was flipping through a National Geographic magazine. Even though it was just a photo, I was shaken by the visuals that I was looking at. My goal was to achieve that same effect with this painting.

Painting specifications

36" x 24" - Landscape (wider than it is tall)

100% cotton canvas hand-stretched on a solid wood frame and stapled to the back, .75 inch deep, gesso primed, water-based acrylics, and high gloss finish to bring out the color and to protect the painting.
